My name is Kristi Cole and I am a performer, choreographer and Pilates instructor working and living in NYC.

Kristi Cole is a NYC based dancer, performer and independent choreographer originally from Columbus, Ohio with a B.A. in Dance and Political Science (Magna Cum Laude, Honors) from the George Washington University (2013).

As a student, Kristi had the privilege of working with the Maida Withers Dance Construction Company and Vicky Shick, in addition to choreographing and performing in the Capital Fringe Festival (2011).  For her excellence as a performer, Kristi received the Elizabeth Burtner Theatre & Dance Award.  Additionally, she received a Luther Rice Fellowship to conduct independent dance research, for which she was awarded first prize in the creative arts division. 

Since moving to New York in 2013, Kristi has collaborated on both site specific and live works for stage, as well as film. She has had the pleasure of working with Donofrio Dance Company, under the direction of Taylor Donofrio (2014-present), Alexandra Pinel (2015), Lauren Beirne Dance Works (2015-2017), Georgina Bates’, Brick by Brick Dance Projects (2017-present) Amanda + James, directed by Amanda Hameline (September 2017- present), and Spaces of Fontana, directed by Evelyn Hoelscher (2018-present). Kristi stepped into the role of Rehearsal Director and Choreography Assistant with Amanda + James for the production, “Lazer Eyes”— a three part techno dance opera experience in October 2018.

In addition to stage and site specific performance, Kristi has been featured in various dance film productions. The film, Unstoppable, (Georgina Bates) in which Kristi was a featured dancer, screened at Lincoln Center as part of the Dance on Camera Festival (2018) in addition to venues in Queens and Brooklyn. 

Outside of dancing for various companies and freelancing, Kristi is currently pursuing her own choreographic endeavors in addition to teaching private Pilates sessions. Her newest solo work, IN MY PLACE was curated and presented by Amanda + James at CPR (Center for Performance Research), in Brooklyn, NY (September 2019) and will continue to be presented throughout NYC and NJ in fall 2019 and spring 2020.   Additionally, Kristi has collaborated with filmmaker, Shannon Finnell to create an original dance film, which will premiere in NYC for the Nasty Women Unite Festival in October, 2019.
